Job summary

America's Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to oversee daily store operations, staff development and inventory control, delivering a positive customer experience while driving sales and profitability.

You will partner with the General Manager and District Manager, supervise opticians and sales associates, forecast staffing needs, and ensure promotions and merchandising are executed in line with company policies.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience; supervising experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) for effective management of teams.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
• Ability to analyze and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (e.g. reviewing the P&L).
• Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department for efficiency and policy compliance.
• Convey a commitment to outstanding customer service and ensure all associates do the same.
• Ensure quality standards are met; review remakes and enforce policies.
• Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager and Corporate Office; provide store reporting as required.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising and visual merchandising are in place and known by all staff.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates; ensure timely completion of day-to-day tasks.
• Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting and retaining a high-caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• In some locations, duties may vary to meet state licensing requirements.
