Job description

Sleepy Hollow Country Club is a private, 27-hole golf course designed by C.B. MacDonald, overlooking the Hudson River in Scarborough, New York. The club is currently ranked 59th in the United States by Golf Digest and 70th worldwide by Golf Magazine. The 338-acre property features an 18-hole championship Upper Course and a 9-hole Lower Course. In 2016, Hanse Golf Course Design restored the Upper Course, converting the greens to USGA specifications while preserving the original poa sod. The Lower Course has native soil push-up greens, providing an opportunity to manage both sand-constructed USGA greens and native soil greens on the same property.

Responsibilities include:

1. Communicating effectively with the Head Equipment Technician, Golf Course Superintendent, and staff (Spanish speaking skills are a plus).
2. Maintaining an organized and clean work area.
3. Learning the nuances of golf course machinery, including reel and rotary blade sharpening, welding and fabrication, understanding cutting heights and quality, and managing oil changes, tires, belts, hydraulic, and cooling systems.
4. Assisting in maintaining service records and inventory with the Head Equipment Technician.
5. Performing outside work on the golf course in various weather conditions, attending to equipment before bringing it inside for repairs.
6. Conducting daily inspections of cutting units to ensure quality.
7. Handling physical tasks such as lifting over 50 lbs, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
