Job summary

NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks an Assistant Electrical Engineer to serve as Assistant Project Manager for the WSCP directorate, based at the Lefrak Office in Queens, NY. You will supervise water and wastewater projects within the watershed and coordinate design and construction efforts to ensure compliance with DEP standards.

The role requires preparing reports, reviewing contracts and codes, and participating in field investigations to devise alternatives and solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• A master’s degree can substitute for one year of experience; other engineering fields not acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and direct design and construction of projects in the NYC watershed.
• Monitor permit requirements and resolve project issues.
• Conduct field condition surveys and prepare accurate reports on observations.
