Job summary

Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center is seeking an Assistant Educator to support the Lead Educator in creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment for young children. You will contribute to social and emotional development, encourage curiosity, and help maintain daily routines and safety.

The role emphasizes collaboration, flexibility, and ongoing professional development with a Monday–Friday schedule in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• Must meet Minnesota DHS Assistant Teacher qualification requirements.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical ability to stand/sit for extended periods and lift/carry up to 65 lbs; CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Supervise children and monitor developmental progress as directed.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe classroom environment.
• Guide children in conflict resolution using age-appropriate methods.
• Communicate professionally with families during drop-off/pick-up and via the Parent app.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and best practices.
