Job summary

The District Attorney’s Office for the 23rd Prosecutorial District seeks resumes for the position of Assistant District Attorney. Openings are located in Shawnee (Pottawatomie County) and Chandler (Lincoln County).

The successful candidate will prosecute a wide range of criminal offenses, including drug crimes, violent crimes and homicide, working with law enforcement, victims and community partners to protect the public.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Oklahoma bar admission or eligibility, or pending results.
Excellent oral advocacy, legal analysis and writing/editing skills.
Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, problem solving and teamwork abilities.
Knowledge of applicable Oklahoma state and federal statutes, rules of evidence and trial procedures.

Responsibilities

Represent the State of Oklahoma at all stages of criminal prosecution in court for cases in Lincoln and Pottawatomie County.
Handle arraignments, pre-trial hearings, and litigate motions and trials as lead counsel.
Collaborate with law enforcement, victims, defense attorneys and agencies to pursue justice.
Review charging decisions, conduct investigations, and prepare discovery for defense counsel.
Meet with victims and coordinate with supervising ADAs and partner agencies as requested.
