Job summary

220 DISTRICT ATTORNEYS COUNCIL is seeking an Assistant District Attorney for the Custer County Office to perform prosecutorial duties across criminal cases, including felonies and misdemeanors, and to handle juvenile matters. The role includes providing legal services tied to county government operations with assignments based on experience.

Newly licensed attorneys and bar-exam candidates are welcome; experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to and in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar Association.
• Preference to live within one of the District 2 counties (Beckham, Custer, Washita, Roger Mills and Ellis).
• Experience is not required; newly licensed attorneys or those sitting for the July bar exam will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute criminal offenses, including misdemeanors and felonies.
• Handle juvenile cases, including neglect, delinquency and CINS (child in need of supervision).
• Provide legal services related to county government operations.
• Duties vary based on experience.
