Job summary

The 18th Prosecutorial District for Pittsburg and Haskell Counties is seeking a full-time Assistant District Attorney for the Pittsburg County Office in McAlester to begin immediately. The office handles general felonies, violent crimes, and property crimes, along with misdemeanor and traffic dockets, subject to caseload and experience.

Education requires a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and admission in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar.

Qualifications

• Prior prosecution experience is preferred but not required.
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school is required.
• Admitted and in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar Association; will consider candidates licensed to practice in Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

• Caseloads will include general felonies, violent crimes and property crimes, plus misdemeanor and traffic dockets.
• Workload and assignments may change based on caseload and candidate experience.

Education

POSITION TITLE: District 18 Assistant District Attorney

LOCATION: Pittsburg County (McAlester, OK)

STATUS: Full-time, Immediate Opening

CLOSING: Open until filled

SALARY: $70,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience

JOB DESCRIPTION: The 18th Prosecutorial District for Pittsburg and Haskell Counties is seeking a full-time Asistant District Attorney for the Pittsburg County Office in McAlester to begin immediately. The McAlester Office at full capacity is 5 attorney office with 11 support staff. Caseload assignments will primarily be general felonies, violet crimes, and property crimes, as well as the criminal misdemeanor and traffic dockets, and is subject to change based on caseload and applicant’s interest and experience.
