Oklahoma District Attorneys Council (DAC) seeks a full-time Assistant District Attorney for the Pittsburg County Office in McAlester. The office handles felonies, violent and property crimes, with a docket also including misdemeanor and traffic matters.

Caseloads may shift based on needs and applicant experience. Preferred candidates hold a JD from an accredited law school and are admitted to the Oklahoma Bar.

Job Description

The 18th Prosecutorial District for Pittsburg and Haskell Counties is seeking a full-time Asistant District Attorney for the Pittsburg County Office in McAlester to begin immediately. The McAlester Office at full capacity is 5 attorney office with 11 support staff. Caseload assignments will primarily be general felonies, violet crimes, and property crimes, as well as the criminal misdemeanor and traffic dockets, and is subject to change based on caseload and applicant’s interest and experience.

Education and Experience

Prior prosecution experience is preferred but not required. Juris Doctorate (JD) from accredited law school. Admitted and in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar Association; will consider candidates licensed
