Seminole State College of Florida seeks an Assistant Director, Veteran Student Services to lead programs for military-connected students and ensure VA compliance. You will guide access to benefits and support campus integration.
Responsibilities include directing the Veterans Student Services program, supervising staff and VA Work Study students, and developing partnerships with veteran organizations to boost student success.
DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Director, Veteran Student Services leads the development, coordination, and administration of programs that support military-connected students. This role serves as the primary liaison for all matters related to Veteran StudentServices, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Position plays a vital role in supporting prospective and current military-affiliated students in accessing educational benefits, understanding VA policies, and successfully integrating into the campus community.
1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Business, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
2. Three years of professional experience administering military programs that assist service members, veterans, and/or their family members.
3. Two years professional supervisory or team lead experience.
1. Professional Veteran’s Affairs Department experience in higher education.
2. One year of experience with Veteran’s Affairs enrollment/certification system (Enrollment Manager/VA-Once).

The College anticipates that the position incumbent must be available throughout the workday, and, on some occasions, after regular work hours. Therefore, as a condition of employment, the incumbent is expected to carry a personal cell phone and is required to provide their current cell phone number to the Office of Human Resources and their immediate supervisor.

The Office of Human Resources will determine which background checks shall be conducted for each position, based upon its review of job descriptions and the responsibilities of the position.
