Job Summary
The Assistant Director, Sports Information, under generalsupervision, assists in publicity efforts for all sponsored sports,including writing press releases and feature stories. Produces andedits game programs, game notes, and media guides. Assists withmaintenance of the Athletic Department's Web site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in publicity efforts for all sponsored sports,including writing press releases and feature stories; producing andediting game programs, game notes and media guides; helping tomaintain historical records; distributes athletic information toall media outlets; and assists in the relations with local,regional and national media.
- Assists in the maintenance of the official website.
- Assists with game-day operations, including media relations,game management and statistical services.
- Trains and supervises student workers, task workers.

Additional Responsibilities
- Assists to develop and implement a comprehensive publicrelations program. Promotes the athletic program, teams, andcontests.
- May assist in all athletic special events, fundraising,promotions and other activities related to athletics.
- May help develop and execute all student-athlete leadershipinitiatives and development efforts. Oversight of theStudent-Athlete Advisory Committee and mentor programs.
- With the help of the Academic Advisors, oversee NCAACHAMPS/Life Skills program.
Minimum Requirements
- Education - Bachelor's degree in sports journalism,sports administration, public relations, or related field.
- Experience - Three years of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may beconsidered.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's Degree in related field.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Demonstrated strong writing and verbal skills.
- Web design and basic computer application experience.
Ability to:
- Ability to perform under deadlines.
- Be reliable to the organization.
- Present information clearly and concisely.
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Communicate effectively with all segments of the campuscommunity.
- Ability to function under adverse and stressfulconditions.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of statistical software (Genius, Stat Crew,PrestoSports, etc.)
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, InDesign,Illustrator)
- Familiarity with live-streaming software (Production Truck,Wirecast, etc.)
- Must possess commitment and capabilities to abide by NCAA bylaws and Lone Star Conference regulations.

Salary: $43,909.08/annual
