Job Summary
The Athletic Assistant, under general supervision, provides a broadrange of administrative support to the (designated sport) andprovide assistance to the head coach in areas of teamadministration and management, including assisting with practice sessions and monitoring of student athlete's progress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the head coach with administrativeresponsibilities.
- Analyze and distribute video information.
- Coordinate and schedule practice sessions
- Assist with arrangements for team travel, hotel accommodationand other related needs.
- Updates various student athlete databases.
- Assists in recruiting efforts. Organizes on-campus visits byprospective student athletes. Provides tours of campus athleticfacilities.
- Assists with summer camps.
- Assist the head coach in monitoring the eligibility of studentathletes.
- Assist the head coach at practices and related responsibilitiesas needed.
- Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with allapplicable NCAA, Conference and University rules andregulations.
- Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rulesand regulations concerning the student-athletes: conduct,appearance, punctuality and other areas as deemedappropriate.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assists in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive publicrelations program.
- Develops and distributes scouting reports on opponents,analyzing opponents' film and scouting reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Education - Bachelor's Degree in from an accreditedinstitution of higher education.
- Experience - A minimum of one year previous high schoolor collegiate level coaching assistance experience or three yearsof a combination of coaching assistance and playingexperience.
- May not be currently an undergrad student at Texas A&MInternational University.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- General knowledge of NCAA rules.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and databaseprograms.
Ability to:
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Oral and written communication skills.
Licensing / Professional Certification
- CPR Certification and First Aid Certification or the ability toobtain within 30 days of employment

Pay of Rate
$14.43/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
