Job summary

Learning Care Group is seeking an Assistant Director for a licensed child care center in Shelby, NC. The role supports the School Director in daily leadership and, in the Director's absence, takes on sole responsibility for safe, compliant operations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of Assistant Director experience, an Associates in ECE or related field if possible, and NC credential requirements. This role focuses on staff development, safety, and nurturing education for children and families.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least 2 years of Assistant Director experience in a licensed child care facility.
• Associates in ECE or related field is preferred.
• Must meet state requirements for education and our center/school requirements.
• Must have the North Carolina level 1, 2, or 3 credential.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to ensure the school operates in accordance with company and state licensing standards.
• Foster an educational, caring, safe environment for the children and parents.
• Recruit, select, and retain quality staff.
• Promote the positive image of Learning Care Group and play a major role in being a provider of choice for the communities we serve.
• In the Director's absence, assume sole responsibility for the school.

The Assistant Director is responsible for the safe, effective operation of the school with the School Director, to achieve Learning Care Group’s safety vision. In the Director’s absence, the Assistant Director has sole responsibility for the school. The Assistant Director assists in the promotion of the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children.
