Job summary

Waters of Wakarusa is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to assist the Director of Nursing with planning, directing and evaluating the Nursing Department. The role involves ensuring high-quality resident care, proper staffing, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The ADON will supervise in the Director's absence, collaborate with the healthcare team, and conduct internal quality audits. Requires active RN or LPN licensure and prior nursing management experience; generous

Qualifications

• Unencumbered, active RN or LPN licensure in the state of employment.
• Advanced education and/or experience in nursing management/administration (one year recommended).
• Desire to work with elders and those needing assistance.
• Mental and physical capacity to perform essential duties with or without accommodations.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with residents, families, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, development, organization, direction and evaluation of Nursing Department services.
• Ensure staffing levels meet resident needs and maintain shift coverage.
• Communicate changes in resident status promptly to physicians and families.
• Establish rapport with staff, residents and families; implement standards of care.
• Supervise in the Director's absence and conduct monthly quality audits.
