Job summary

Island Lake Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead nursing operations in collaboration with the Director of Nursing. The role focuses on compliance, program implementation, and staff mentorship to ensure high-quality geriatric care.

The ADON will participate in committees, drive quality improvement, and coordinate with other departments. Florida RN license required with leadership experience and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Florida.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Health Administration preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in healthcare.
• Experience with EMR systems.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing operations in partnership with the Director of Nursing.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accrediting regulations.
• Mentor and lead nursing staff; implement clinical services and programs.
• Collaborate with other departments and participate in committees.

About the Role:

As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you will partner with our Director of Nursing to oversee all nursing operations, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accrediting regulations. You will serve as a role model, mentor, and leader for our nursing staff, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical services and programs that promote holistic resident care. Your responsibilities will also include collaborating with other departments, participating in committees, and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Health Administration preferred
• Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Minimum 2 years of skilled nursing experience in a leadership role
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and engage teams in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for caring for geriatric and sub-acute populations
