Job summary

The Springs Red Oak is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support our skilled nursing facility. The ADON will assist the Director of Nursing in supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing resident care outcomes.

Ideal candidates have an RN license, BSN preferred, and at least 3 years in long-term care with supervisory experience. Strong leadership, collaboration, and PCC software proficiency are valued assets.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required; BSN preferred.
• 3+ years in long-term care; 1+ year in supervision.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulation, and quality improvement.
• Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound clinical decisions.
• Proficient in PCC and other healthcare software.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in managing and supervising staff, including hiring, training, and evaluations.
• Coordinate daily nursing operations to ensure effective, efficient care.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and facility policies.
• Develop and evaluate nursing care plans and protocols.
• Monitor and improve quality of resident care; address issues promptly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic resident care.
• Manage nursing supplies and equipment; ensure proper usage.
• Conduct regular audits of nursing documentation and progress notes.
• Provide guidance to staff and maintain a positive work environment.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide leadership after hours.

The ADON will assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing the nursing department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and enhancing the overall quality of care. The ideal candidate will be a skilled leader with a strong clinical background and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Nursing in managing and supervising the nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate and oversee daily nursing operations to ensure effective and efficient delivery of care.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans and protocols.
• Monitor and assess the quality of care provided to residents, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote a holistic approach to resident care.
• Assist in managing and maintaining nursing supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper usage.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of nursing documentation, including assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
• Provide support and guidance to nursing staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
• Participate in on-call rotation as required, providing support and leadership during off-hours.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with valid state licensure required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in long-term care or skilled nursing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement processes.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound clinical decisions.
• Proficient in using PCC and other healthcare software.
