Job summary

Hillside Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in achieving goals for patient/resident care and rights.

The ADON will lead nursing staff within an interdisciplinary team, drive outcomes-based care, cost management, and customer satisfaction while ensuring policies are followed and quality programs are advanced.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Florida
• BSN or Health Administration preferred
• Several years of nursing management experience
• Knowledge of OBRA, Joint Commission and state regulations
• Experience with EMR systems
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work with geriatric population

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing functions in the facility in collaboration with the DON
• Interpret and implement nursing policies and resident care policies
• Ensure compliance with government and accrediting standards
• Ensure staff adherence to department and facility policies
• Meet with staff to plan clinical services and improve care
• Prepare reports and recommendations for the DON
• Collaborate with other departments to meet residents' needs
• Participate in QA/PI, Infection Control, Safety, Ethics, and Leadership committees
• Support facility surveys and data collection for quality improvement
• Coordinate new hire training and mandatories; ensure annual trainings are completed

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Our company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our growing team!

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in executing the goals and objectives of the nursing department in regard to patient/resident rights, patient/resident care and reflects the mission statement of the facility. The ADON serves as a role model to nursing staff while facilitating outcomes-based care delivery, cost management, and enhanced customer satisfaction within the context of an interdisciplinary framework.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Responsibilities:

• Assist Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing all nursing functions in our healthcare facility
• Interpret and execute administrative, nursing and resident/patient care policies
• Ensure compliance with government and accrediting agency standards and regulations pertaining to Nursing
• Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with the written policies and procedures established by the department and the facility
• Meet with staff regularly in planning the clinical services, programs and activities of the department and to identify and correct problem areas and improve services
• Make reports and recommendations to the DON concerning the activities of the department
• Collaborate with other departments and disciplines in meeting the residents' needs
• Actively participate in committees such as QA/PI, Infection Control, Safety, Ethics, Leadership and others
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies
• Participate in QA/PI programs by providing for the collection and analysis of data for the continuous quality improvement program
• Responsible for New Hire Training of required mandatories; Works directly with Department Heads to assure that department specific requirements are conducted for new hires.
• Ensures that annual mandatories are conducted for all staff.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Qualifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Florida
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Health Administration is preferred
• Several years of nursing experience in a management role in a healthcare facility
• Comprehensive knowledge of OBRA, Joint Commission and State Rules and Regulations
• Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Computer and word processing skills required
• Must be able to read, write and speak the English language, knowledge of other languages helpful
• The ability to deal effectively and professionally with emotional patient/residents, visitors or family members
• The ability to relate to geriatric, informed and sub-acute population
