Job summary

Western Hills Retirement Village in Ohio is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead the nursing team, support the Director of Nursing, and drive clinical excellence in a fast-paced senior care setting.

You will supervise RNs, LPNs, CMAs, and CNAs, ensure policy compliance, and mentor staff to deliver high-quality, resident-focused care while upholding infection control and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current LPN or RN license in the State of Ohio.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and nursing practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassionate, calm, and resident-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily operations of the nursing department.
• Supervise and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, CMAs, and CNAs.
• Ensure compliance with all facility policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
• Support the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
• Monitor quality of care and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations of nursing staff.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to staff, including care planning and documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.
• Promote a positive, supportive environment for residents, families, and staff.
• Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations.
