Job summary

Xenia Health and Rehab is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations and ensuring the highest quality resident care. The ADON promotes safety, excellence, and continuous improvement in care delivery.

Key duties include planning and directing daily Nursing Services, interpreting policies, participating in QAPI activities and committees, conducting rounds, and supervising staff development.

Qualifications

• Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum three years of experience as a supervisor in health care facilities.
• Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and long-term care regulations.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing daily Nursing Services operations.
• Interpret and communicate policies to nursing staff and monitor practices.
• Participate in QAPI or facility assessment activities and committees.
• Attend or participate in facility committees as appointed.
• Perform rounds to observe residents and ensure nursing needs are met.
• Supervise in-service education to maintain competent staff.
• Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing the clinical operations of the nursing department to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to residents. The ADON plays a vital leadership role in promoting a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement in resident care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Services department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.




• Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.




• Participates in QAPI or facility assessment activities as needed, such as carrying out duties assigned as part of a performance improvement committee.




• Facilitates, serves, attends or participates in various committees of the facility as appointed.




• Performs rounds to observe residents and ensure nursing needs are being met.




• Conducts observations of nursing care and supervises development of in-service education to ensure nursing staff is competent in current knowledge and skills.




• Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.




• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.




• Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home, or other related health care facilities.




• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.




• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.




• Current CPR certification.
