POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dynamic Associate Director of Nursing to provide leadership and oversight during off-shift hours, weekends, and holidays. This role is integral to maintaining quality, safety, and performance standards across units, ensuring compliance, supporting staff development, and upholding patient-centered care.

The ADON is responsible for clinical management, performance metrics, staffing oversight, regulatory readiness, and the overall delivery of nursing care during assigned shifts.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet all of the following to be considered:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
  • Previous ADON (Associate Director of Nursing) experience
  • Recent Acute Care hospital experience
  • Demonstrated Joint Commission Readiness involvement
  • Availability for nights and evenings, including alternating weekends

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Standard Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to CMS, IHI, CAP, and Joint Commission standards
  • Lead quality/performance improvement initiatives and training
  • Use “tracer” tools to monitor and correct compliance gaps

Operational & Clinical Oversight

  • Manage unit staffing schedules and performance metrics
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership on care standards and compliance
  • Maintain a safe, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered environment

Leadership & Strategic Planning

  • Participate in service and unit-based strategic planning
  • Drive patient and staff satisfaction initiatives
  • Develop nursing care delivery plans and team engagement strategies

Staff Development

  • Educate, evaluate, and mentor nursing staff
  • Provide training on systems and departmental procedures
  • Implement retention strategies and professional development plans

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving and a performance improvement mindset
  • Comfortable with the physical demands of standing, walking, and bending
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment

  • This role provides House Coverage during off-hours
