Our 439-room Midtown high-rise is the closest hotel to the United Nations and half a mile from Grand Central Station. We’re within one mile of Bryant Park, The Morgan Library, and Rockefeller Center. The ideal candidate will have experience in a front office leadership role at a similar-sized property, OnQ experience, experience managing unionized team members, and full availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Shift Pattern: Full availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 / year

What will I be doing?

As an Assistant Director of Front Office, you will assist in directing and administering all Front Office operations.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Assist in the direction and administration of all Front Office operations, including guest service and registration (check-in/check-out), room inventory and availability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement, and meeting participation and facilitation.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance, including supervision, professional development, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, and recognition.
  • Assess service and satisfaction trends, address issues, and make improvements accordingly.
  • Oversee the VIP process, including reviewing VIP reservations, administering amenities, managing guest resumes and special requests, updating inventory, and overseeing rate changes for in-house guests.
  • Implement marketing up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and maximize revenue.
  • Ensure team members are knowledgeable about hotel offerings, policies, and local area events.
  • Run daily reports, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Resolve guest issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Recruit, interview, and train team members.
