Job Description - Assistant Director of Engineering - Doubletree by Hilton Crystal City (HOT0BL4Z)

Our hotel features 627 guest rooms, over 33,000 square feet of meeting space, and is located half a mile south of The Pentagon, near I-395. Pentagon City Metro station is three blocks away. We have a team of 10+ members reporting to our Complex Director of Engineering.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience as a Chief Engineer or equivalent, with proven leadership and training skills, and a strong mechanical background preferred. Flexibility to work various shifts is required.

Shift Pattern: Full availability (AM/PM) on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.

What will I be doing?

As Assistant Director of Engineering, you'll assist the Director in overseeing the safety and functionality of the facility to ensure guest and team member well-being, delivering outstanding service and profitability. Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the physical buildings, mechanical, electrical, heating/cooling, life safety systems, and grounds according to regulations
• Conducting inspections and managing maintenance and repairs of systems
• Documenting maintenance activities in the property management system
• Communicating with officials to ensure permits, licenses, and inspections are compliant
• Supporting capital projects and property rehabilitations
• Monitoring and developing team performance, including supervision, scheduling, counseling, and recognition
• Recruiting, interviewing, and training team members
• Acting in place of the Director when needed
• Leading special projects as required
