What will I be doing?

As Director of Catering & Events, you will provide leadership in creating and delivering an exceptional team member experience and be the best place to work. You will be responsible for contributing to superior business results by ensuring outstanding guest service, team member engagement, favorable financial outcomes, strategic leadership, talent development, culture, innovation, and event operations.

Specifically, your essential functions will include:

  1. Strategy:
  • Implement commercial strategic initiatives successfully and monitor for best-in-class results.
  • Drive innovation and creativity in event delivery.
  • Partner with the General Manager/Executive Committee to deliver high-impact event experiences aligned with Hilton’s values.
  • Maintain high service standards through continuous review of processes and procedures.
  • Provide owner relations guidance in areas such as Banquet Capital Expenditures and Staffing Models.
  • Support the sales process actively.
  1. Leadership:
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for all Events & Catering matters.
  • Serve as the hotel’s Subject Matter Expert on event & catering experiences.
  • Engage proactively with General Manager, Sales, Catering, team members, guests, and suppliers.
  • Stay current on event trends to evaluate and implement innovative practices.
  • Represent Hilton in industry associations and events.
  1. Culture:
  • Inspire high-performing, multicultural, and multigenerational teams that build Hilton’s Events talent pipeline.
  • Integrate Hilton’s Values/Mission/Purpose into initiatives and programs.
  • Lead with Hilton’s culture through meaningful team interactions.
  • Act as an ambassador for customer service excellence.
  1. Talent:
  • Motivate teams and foster a productive work environment.
  • Ensure career development plans are in place for Event & Catering managers, supporting succession planning.
  • Maintain an open-door policy to listen and respond to team needs.
  • Manage conflicts effectively.
  1. Operations Excellence:
  • Optimize use of event spaces and manage vendor relationships.
  • Ensure standards and practices are maintained.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, including forecasting and cost reporting.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and incorporate current trends in event management and design.
  • Participate in customer site inspections and support sales efforts as needed.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 2 years hospitality experience at an Assistant or Director level.

Preferred capabilities include:

  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems (e.g., Delphi.fdc).
  • Experience in revenue management or similar analytical roles.
  • Relevant degree in business development or related field; certifications such as CMP, CPCE are advantageous.
