Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is seeking an Assistant Director of Development to strengthen and grow philanthropic support for its mission. The candidate will support donor engagement and fundraising efforts throughout the region.

This full-time role offers a collaborative environment, excellent health benefits, and a remote work option of 1 day per week. The position is onsite in either Verona or Charlottesville, requiring occasional travel within the service area.

The ideal candidate should have experience in nonprofit development and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising.
• Experience with donor stewardship and relationship management.
• Strong written, verbal, and public speaking communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and steward donor relationships through meaningful engagement.
• Support fundraising initiatives related to individual and planned giving.
• Coordinate donor engagement opportunities including events and tours.
