Position Overview

Reports to: Program Director. Supervises: Head Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Student Employees, Practicum/Student Teachers, Teacher Aides, Volunteers. Interfaces with: University faculty, staff, students, community, church at large.

Qualifications
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Pre-kindergarten Teaching License preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of Early Childhood experience
  • Synodical college or Colloquy preferred
Essential Duties
  1. Follow child care regulations (Department of Human Services, Rule 3).
  2. Document and report suspected child abuse cases.
  3. Complete annual in-service training and biannual First Aid/CPR training.
  4. Substitute in classrooms and handle emergency administrative responsibilities.
  5. Manage staffing, supplies, parent questions, and center maintenance in the absence of the center director.
  6. Participate in hiring, orientation, and training of staff and student employees.
  7. Plan and implement programs, maintain records, conduct tours, and promote communication with parents.
  8. Coordinate logistics for field trips and collaborate with health consultants and other stakeholders.
