Seeking experienced Mortgage Underwriters to join our team and support loan processing for broker clients. This role plays a critical part in evaluating loan applications, ensuring compliance, and driving quality underwriting decisions. We have multiple openings and are looking for dedicated professionals eager to contribute long-term.

Responsibilities

1. Loan Underwriting: Review and assess files submitted by broker clients, ensuring compliance with FHA, VA, and conventional lending guidelines.
2. Approval Process: Collaborate with the loan structure and precision income teams to finalize approvals.
3. Workflow Coordination: Work within Pennymac's structured, end-to-end loan process, focusing on underwriting scope.
4. Compliance & Risk Assessment: Ensure loans meet investor guidelines (FHA UW, HUD UW, VA UW, VA IRRL, VA SAR, TrumsID Registration) and adhere to quality control standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience required
• Strong knowledge of mortgage underwriting and automated underwriting systems
• Understanding of mortgage laws and regulations, including the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act
• Knowledge of state and federal agency mortgage loan guidelines is helpful
• Deep understanding of FHA, VA, and conventional loan underwriting
• Remote position; candidates must reside in designated states
• Training in EST (11-6) for up to 90 days

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00/hr. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation benefits, employee assistance, PTO, and more. Eligibility and specific benefits depend on employment status and location.
