Job summary

Pomona College seeks an Assistant Director for the Native Indigenous Resource Center to mentor Native students, supervise student workers, and co-lead cultural programs. This role focuses on outreach, research, and community engagement to support Native communities and student success.

The position requires a Master’s degree and 5+ years in related work with Native communities, including higher education or nonprofit partners. Travel and a California residency are expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred in a related field; Doctorate degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required or equivalent transportation.
• 5+ years of experience with native/indigenous students and community partners.
• 1–3 years with local native tribal nations in higher education or community orgs.

Responsibilities

• Act as mentor and advocate for Native students and groups.
• Supervise and advise Native student programs.
• Coordinate Native Graduation and IPMP activities.
• Manage program finances, budgets, and grant reporting.
• Develop assessments of native student success and institutional reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships with local native communities and programs.
