University of Texas at Dallas is seeking an Assistant Director for the Military and Veteran Center in Richardson. The role reports to the director and plans, coordinates, and chairs programs for military-affiliated students, guiding them through transition to college and connecting them with campus and community resources.

The position requires knowledge of military culture and transitions, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with integrity and discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; at least three years in U.S. military.
• One year of experience in higher education advisory/administrative/program coordination/recruiting or educational capacity.
• Knowledge of military culture, transitioning from military to civilian/college environment.
• Strong communication, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and PeopleSoft or related software.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, market, and facilitate Military and Veteran Center activities, programs, and services for military-affiliated students.
• Oversee communication and marketing initiatives (newsletters, policies, website, and departmental correspondence).
• Recommend new programs to enhance student development and success.
• Collect, evaluate, and analyze data and prepare administrative reports on utilization/effectiveness of support services.
• Provide advisory support to military-affiliated students as they transition to college life (admissions, financial aid, benefits).
• Connect students with resources to support academic experience, retention, and graduation.
• Provide guidance on academic/non-academic issues.
