Job summary

Maryland Science Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Development for Major Gifts & Stewardship to guide day-to-day strategy and manage fundraising from individual donors, focusing on major gifts and multi-year support.

Responsibilities include prospect research, relationship building with top funders, and leading a donor pipeline while ensuring stewardship and timely reporting. This role supports senior leadership and reports to the Sr. Director of Development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; fundraising experience with major gifts.
• 5+ years in fundraising with proven success.
• Experience in donor management and stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate major gift prospects and funders.
• Support senior leadership with funder meetings and materials.
• Develop a structured donor pipeline and stewardship schedule.
• Supervise Annual Appeal Manager and AA operations; oversee events for $1,000+ donors.
• Maintain accurate institutional records in the CRM.
