Job summary

Pasadena City College is seeking an Assistant Director of Human Resources to lead the HR department, supervise HRBPs, HR Assistants, and Student Employment Technicians, and ensure high-quality service delivery across the District. The role partners with the Director on employee relations, compliance, investigations, and HRIS projects.

Responsibilities include overseeing recruitment, onboarding, records, and system audits; driving continuous improvement with HR data and metrics; and supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Industrial/Organizational Development, or related field.
• Four years of full-time professional HR experience.
• One year in a supervisory or lead capacity overseeing HR staff or functions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, and develops HR staff; sets priorities and ensures equitable HR service delivery district-wide.
• Manages day-to-day HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, records, and HRIS; ensures compliance with laws, Education Code, Title 5, and Board policies.
• Partners with HR to identify and prioritize HRIS needs; collaborates on system projects, upgrades, and process improvements.
• Performs HR system audits; prepares findings and recommendations to improve system performance.
• Maintains position control data integrity and approves personnel actions and salary adjustments.
• Develops standardized HR procedures and tools; leads regular HR team meetings for alignment.
