Job summary

Associated Students Inc., CSUF is seeking an Associate Director of Human Resources to lead talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management. This role provides strategic HR guidance to campus leadership and supports a positive workplace culture.

The position supervises HR staff and partners with the Chief Human Resources Officer to ensure compliant and effective HR programs across the university. Strong certifications and California HR experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field required.
• SPHR or equivalent senior HR certification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in leadership/supervisory HR roles.
• Experience in employee relations, compensation, recruitment, and leaves.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle staff recruitment with managers to identify staffing needs.
• Direct performance management, goal setting, coaching, and development planning.
• Advise managers on employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
• Oversee benefits programs, leaves administration, and open enrollment processes.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
• Manage HR projects, metrics, and reporting for leadership decisions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
