Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with Idaho, regional, national, and international employers to create internships, graduate school pathways, and career opportunities for UI students.
  • Create and implement plans for relationship-building with employers in Idaho and the Northwest.
  • Lead and manage the department's fundraising efforts through the Distinguished Employer Partnership Program (DEP).
  • Collect employer outreach data, analyze results, and prepare reports and recommendations.

Position Overview:

Serving on the Career Services Leadership Team, the AssistantDirector for Employer Relations: Outreach and Development isresponsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with state,regional, national, and international employers to increaseinternships, professional experiences, graduate school, and careeropportunities for UI students and graduates.

  • Create and implement a plan for relationship-building withemployers in Idaho and the Northwest that offer professionalexperiences, graduate school pathways, and career positions relatedto UI majors and degree programs
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase connections andnetworking opportunities between students and employers
  • Assist employers in expanding their internship programs andaccessing qualified internship candidates

The Assistant Director also leads the department's fundraising anddevelopment efforts through Career Services' Distinguished EmployerPartnership Program (DEP), and leads the department's assessmentplan by collecting employer outreach data and writing reports andrecommendations based on that data.

Required Experience:
  • Two years professional experience working in recruitment, humanresources, talent management or other related experience
  • One year of professional experience in event planning ordevelopment/fundraisingExperience with program planning and implementation
  • Experience providing presentations to small and largegroups
Required Education:
  • Bachelors degree

  • Must be eligible for membership in relevant professionalorganizations
  • Ability to work nonstandard hours including a flexible scheduleduring select mornings, evenings and weekends to address eventneeds
  • Ability to travel regionally, in-state and out-of-state on aperiodic basis

Experience:
  • Professional work experience in a university career servicesoffice or employer relations role
  • Managing career services database systems (i.e. Handshake,Symplicity, 12Twenty, CSO, or other job search databases)
  • Technical/computer experience, including the experience usingsoftware such as Access, Excel, video conferencing programs (Zoom)and on-line survey programs (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc.
  • Developing a process for assessment, collecting/analyzing data,and preparing reports and recommendations
Skills/knowledge/Ability to:
  • Demonstrated past success in development/fundraisingefforts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team andindependently to complete tasks
  • Strong organization skills
