Job summary

The University of Chicago’s FinMath Career Development Office seeks an experienced Assistant Director to prepare graduate students for internships and full-time roles. You will lead event planning, provide advising, and run workshops and labs to enhance career readiness and industry connections.

You will collaborate with the CDO Director and campus partners to expand employer relations, coordinate quarterly projects, and ensure timely communication of opportunities to students and alumni through

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2–5 years of work experience in a related field.
• Experience with graduate-level and/or international students is preferred.
• Previous experience in event planning and execution is preferred.
• Strong communication, advising, and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Advises and counsels students concerning employment opportunities and careers by acting as a liaison between students and prospective employers.
• Conducts mock interviews, reviews resumes and cover letters, and coordinates other interview related programming.
• Supports employer and alumni relations including coordinating outreach for career engagement opportunities with students.
• Collaborates with the CDO Director to engage industry partners for projects and information sessions.
• Plans and logistical management for career events, including employer and student-focused events.
• Communicates and distributes information about events and opportunities to students and alumni weekly.
