Job summary

Dream Nashville is seeking an Assistant Director of Facilities to lead property engineering, preventive maintenance, and repairs. You will oversee safety systems, utilities, and compliance with codes while managing day-to-day operations and cost control.

The role requires coordinating staff, prioritizing service requests, and driving operational excellence across all hotel facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Engineering staff: interview, schedule, train, develop, coach and counsel.
  • Prioritize service requests; schedule and monitor maintenance to ensure safety and guest satisfaction.
  • Test and inspect safety systems to ensure 100% operation.
  • Monitor utilities consumption and control expenses to meet budget goals.
  • Prepare schedules, logs and records to ensure smooth operation and minimize liabilities.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Description

Manage the implementation of all property, equipment, preventive maintenance and repairs. Monitor safety systems and utilities. Responsible for the administration of the department in compliance with all corporate standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and employees. Manager the day-to-day operations. Recommend and implement procedural changes. Monitor and control expenses.

  • Manage the Engineering employees; interview, schedule, train, develop, coach and counsel,

  • Assist with resolving problems and recommend discipline
  • Prioritize service requests; schedule and monitor the service performed to ensure customer satisfaction, safety and convenience.
  • Test and examine the safety systems to ensure they are 100% operational at all times to protect the asset, guests and employees.
  • Monitor utility consumption to determine the effectiveness of current systems.
  • Review purchase requests and monitor expenses to ensure budgeted goals are met/exceeded.
  • Assist in the administration of the department by preparing and maintaining schedules, logs, records or other documentation to ensure a smooth operation and minimize liabilities
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the BMS/Engineering profession
  • knowledge required for management of people and complex problems
  • Requires investigating and analyzing current activities and/or information in a specialized field involving readily
  • Requires supervisory skills
  • Ability to provide information and associated services to hotel management and guests
  • Excellent hearing required to communicate with management and staff.
  • Excellent vision required to visually check hotel premises.
  • Excellent speech communication skills required to communicate with management and staff.
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy required for procedures, reports, instructions, receipts.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying weights up to 25 lbs. and greater, for all hotel equipment and machinery.
  • Frequent bending and/or kneeling throughout the day for repairs and maintenance of hotel property, equipment and machinery.
  • Mobility throughout the hotel, all floors, varying heights and distances. Use of ladders, lifts and climbing required at times.
  • Continuous standing required in varying degrees throughout the day.
  • Driving – limited driving on an occasional basis for supplies, equipment, etc. Generally within 20 miles.
  • Experience required by position is from two to three full years of full employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
