Job summary

Dream Nashville seeks an Engineering Manager to oversee property, equipment, preventive maintenance and repairs, ensuring safety systems and utilities are fully operational. The role administers the department per corporate standards and local codes to protect assets, guests and employees, and manages day-to-day operations and procedural improvements.

  • Excellent hearing and vision for safety and operational duties.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports and procedures.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and mobility around the hotel.
  • Occasional driving within a limited geographic area.

  • Test and examine safety systems to ensure full operability at all times.
  • Monitor utility consumption to assess current systems' effectiveness.
  • Review purchase requests and monitor expenses to meet budget goals.
  • Assist administration of department by maintaining schedules, logs and records.

Summary

Manage the implementation of all property, equipment, preventive maintenance and repairs. Monitor safety systems and utilities. Responsible for the administration of the department in compliance with all corporate standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and employees. Manager the day-to-day operations. Recommend and implement procedural changes. Monitor and control expenses.

Qualifications
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the BMS/Engineering profession

  • Ability to provide information and associated services to hotel management and guests
  • Excellent hearing required to communicate with management and staff.
  • Excellent vision required to visually check hotel premises.
  • Excellent speech communication skills required to communicate with management and staff.
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy required for procedures, reports, instructions, receipts.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying weights up to 25 lbs. and greater, for all hotel equipment and machinery.
  • Frequent bending and/or kneeling throughout the day for repairs and maintenance of hotel property, equipment and machinery.
  • Mobility throughout the hotel, all floors, varying heights and distances. Use of ladders, lifts and climbing required at times.
  • Continuous standing required in varying degrees throughout the day.
  • Driving - limited driving on an occasional basis for supplies, equipment, etc. Generally within 20 miles.
  • Experience required by position is from two to three full years of full employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
