Job summary

Crothall Healthcare is seeking an Assistant Director of Environmental Services in the Pittsburgh area to support the Director in directing housekeeping operations across the facility. You will coordinate tasks among Operations Managers and serve as a liaison between administration and hospital departments to deliver high-level service.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent history, progressive healthcare housekeeping experience, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work history.
• Progressive growth in healthcare housekeeping facility maintenance.
• Excellent written and oral communication, listening and empathy, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff and to develop budgets.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and reviews standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff.
• Plans work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties for adequate services.
• Interviews, hires, evaluates, and terminates housekeeping personnel.
• Orients, trains, develops and supervises all Housekeeping staff.
• Performs regular inspections and evaluations of the facility and recommends actions.
• Conducts regular staff meetings and coordinates with other departments.
• Schedules major project work and ensures staff and supplies are available.
• Conducts regular inventory of housekeeping supplies.
• Assists Department Director with budgets.
