Job summary

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) in New York City seeks an Assistant Director for the Developmental Disabilities Unit to lead program oversight, policy development, and cross-agency collaboration. You will report to the Executive Director of the DDU and guide budgets, contracts, and trainings to advance supports for children and families with IDD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in a large government agency or related field.
  • Alternative: degree plus one year in administrative/managerial role in a public agency.
  • Master's degree plus supervisory/leadership experience preferred; strong communications and data skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to the Executive Director of the DDU.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures for best practices in child welfare.
  • Oversee programs, budgets, contracts, procurements, and proposals.
  • Lead trainings for internal and external stakeholders on services for IDD populations.
  • Coordinate access to city and state resources for IDD-related services.
  • Serve as liaison to external agencies and represent ACS in community meetings.

Education

Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree in public administration / MSW / MPH (preferred)
