Job summary

MTA Bridges and Tunnels seeks an Assistant Director, Central Control Unit, to oversee payroll, timekeeping, leave, and related operations for about 1,000 employees. Based at Randall's Island, the role directs CCU staff, ensures policy compliance with CBAs, and coordinates with Labor Relations and the BSC to drive system integrity and process improvements.

Telework is available one day per week; the position offers a salary range of $117,122–$146,403 with comprehensive benefits and opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum 8 years in payroll/timekeeping/workforce management or related admin roles.
• Minimum 4 years supervisory experience leading professional staff.
• Experience with CBAs, payroll regulations and unionized environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll, timekeeping, leave, and project hour reporting for ~1,000 employees.
• Ensure compliance with CBAs, policies, and payroll procedures.
• Lead onboarding, transfers, and payroll transactions; audit and resolve discrepancies.
• Support Kronos WFM implementation and system testing.
• Develop staff and manage performance, with emphasis on internal controls.
