Job summary

State of Indiana seeks an Assistant Director of Accountability to lead high‑stakes statewide data processes, cohort operations, and graduation rate reporting within the Indiana Department of Education. You will guide analytics, oversee contracts, and ensure compliant, timely results across accountability cycles.

Under the Director's guidance, you will mentor specialists, translate complex analytics for diverse audiences, and promote consistency in accountability work across the agency.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of agency and/or organizational programs and business practices.
• Extensive knowledge of State programs, public policy, and program evaluation.
• Ability to develop and measure program outcomes.
• Ability to build relationships with public and private leaders.
• Ability to assign work and manage workflow.
• Ability to coach and develop employee skillsets.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate organizational effectiveness, goals, and strategic planning, and recommend improvements.
• Assist the Director with plans, policies, resources, and mission alignment.
• Provide guidance to agencies and the public on applicable laws and rules.
• Supervise staff, including hiring, workload, training, and performance evaluations.
• Monitor agency budget revenues and expenditures and forecast needs.
• Communicate with media and respond to questions in a public relations capacity.
• Coordinate with other government officials on planning issues.
• Recruit, onboard, and train employees, and support ongoing professional development.
• Set expectations, measure progress, and ensure quality and deadlines.
