Texas State University seeks an Assistant Director of Academic Advising to lead the advising center, mentor staff, and oversee daily operations from onboarding through graduation. You will collaborate with campus partners to advance student success, persistence, and degree completion through proactive, holistic advising practices.

The role requires strategic planning, data-informed assessment, and strong leadership to sustain high-quality student services in a large, dynamic university setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6–7 years of progressively responsible experience including supervisory, management, and/or leadership experience.
• At least one year of demonstrated commitment to academic success and student-centered service.
• Expert proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace, and/or productivity software.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for academic advisors.
• Train and onboard new advisors to ensure consistency in advising philosophy and practices.
• Oversee daily advising operations and ensure timely, accurate student support.
• Lead collaboration with campus partners to enhance academic success and retention.
