Job description

We are seeking a passionate, organized, and experienced Assistant Director to join our leadership team at Mia Mia South Austin.The Assistant Director plays an essential role in overseeing daily school operations, supporting our teaching teams, and working closely with the Campus Director to ensure an exceptional educational experience for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Campus Director in overseeing daily school operations and maintaining high standards of excellence.
• Guide, mentor, and collaborate with teachers to foster a positive and inspiring learning environment.
• Support classroom management, staffing coordination, and operational procedures.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers and applicable licensing regulations.
• Promote Mia Mia’s educational philosophy, values, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Serve as a trusted leadership partner to the Campus Director.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience serving on the leadership team of a preschool in Texas.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers and state licensing requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in early childhood education and school operations.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience supporting, mentoring, and collaborating with teaching teams.
• A genuine passion for early childhood education and creating nurturing learning environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with or knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach is highly valued but not required.
