Job summary

Purpose Kids Early Childhood Learning Center in Houston, TX seeks an Assistant Director to join the leadership team. You will oversee daily operations, support teachers, and ensure high-quality care and customer service for children and families.

The role requires hands-on leadership, coordination with the Center Director, and strong commitment to safety, licensing, and community engagement. Full-time schedule with weekday hours.

Qualifications

  • Previous childcare leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an early childhood education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of childcare safety, supervision, and classroom practices.
  • Knowledge of Texas childcare licensing requirements preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and hold staff accountable in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • Must meet all applicable Texas Child Care Regulation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Center Director with the daily operation of the childcare center.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to teachers and classroom staff.
  • Ensure classrooms maintain appropriate supervision, ratios, schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with Texas Child Care Regulation and center policies.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and feedback to staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, attendance, breaks, and classroom coverage.
  • Support staff training, onboarding, and professional development.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and families.
  • Assist with addressing parent concerns and resolving issues promptly.
  • Help maintain accurate enrollment, attendance, licensing, and staff records.
  • Assist with tours, enrollment, family engagement, and center events.
  • Support behavior management and ensure appropriate classroom practices are followed.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and assist with documentation and follow-up.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and professional center environment.
  • Step into classrooms and provide coverage when needed.
  • Serve as a positive role model for staff and uphold the center's values and expectations.

Assistant Director

Purpose Kids Early Childhood Learning Center is looking for a passionate, dependable, and experienced Assistant Director to join our leadership team! We are seeking someone who is organized, professional, energetic, and committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for children and families.


Position Overview

The Assistant Director works closely with the Center Director to oversee daily operations, support teachers, maintain licensing and safety standards, and ensure our center provides exceptional care and customer service.
