Innovative Child Development Center in McAllen, TX is seeking an Assistant Site Director / Hands-On Operations Leader to oversee daily operations across Infant through School-Age classrooms. You will lead on-floor operations, mentor staff, ensure Texas CCR Minimum Standards compliance, and manage onboarding and Brightwheel logging.

CPR/First Aid and a DFPS background check are required, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of verifiable hands-on experience in a licensed child care setting (Lead Teacher or similar role).
• Commanding classroom presence with warmth, and the ability to model standard-setting teaching practices.
• Coaching mindset to train, encourage, and provide actionable feedback to peers and new hires.
• Growth orientation toward learning operations, leadership principles, and regulatory compliance.
• Compliance & Safety: CPR & First Aid certification and DFPS background check (or ability to obtain).
• Physical capability: ability to lift up to 40 lbs and move between classrooms quickly.

Are you an exceptional early childhood educator ready to step into administration? Innovative Child Development Center is looking for an energetic, confident, and classroom-tested leader to serve as our Assistant Site Director / Hands-On Operations Leader.

We take leadership development seriously. What You’ll Do

• Lead from the Floor: Serve as the center's active operations leader—monitoring classroom ratios, anticipating staff transitions, and maintaining continuous compliance with Texas Child Care Regulation (CCR) Minimum Standards.




• Master Classroom Cover & Training: Step into any classroom (Infant through School-Age) at a moment’s notice with full confidence, modeling best practices and classroom management techniques.




• Mentor & Onboard Staff: Lead hands-on onboarding for new hires, coach staff on curriculum execution, and ensure accurate logging in Brightwheel.




• Maintain Safety & Facility Standards: Conduct daily safety sweeps across indoor and outdoor spaces, proactively addressing hazards and reporting maintenance needs.




• Connect with Families: Act as a welcoming, professional face of the center during drop-off and pick-up, conduct prospective family tours, and help resolve everyday parent inquiries.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Minimum of 18 months of verifiable hands-on experience in a licensed child care setting (Lead Teacher or similar role).




• Commanding Classroom Presence: A natural ability to step into any classroom, establish control with warmth, and model standard-setting teaching practices.




• Coaching Mindset: Eagerness to train, encourage, and provide actionable feedback to peers and new hires.




• Growth Orientation: A strong desire to learn operations, leadership principles, and regulatory compliance.




• Compliance & Safety: Must have (or obtain upon hire) CPR & First Aid certification and pass a comprehensive DFPS background check.




• Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, kneel, bend, and move quickly between classrooms.
