Job summary

Eden Senior Care in Wisconsin is seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager to lead food service operations on a 11am-7pm schedule, Monday through Friday with occasional weekends and holidays. You will participate in policy development, QA, and staffing decisions to support resident care.

The role emphasizes sanitation, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with dietitians and other departments. Prior supervisory experience in long-term care and Serv Safe certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of food service policy and procedure development and promote interdisciplinary communication.
• Interpret the department’s policies and procedures to employees, residents, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary.
• Understand and support the Resident Bill of Rights reflected in all aspects of performance, concern and caring for residents.
• Participate in CQI (QA) processes.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards per Federal and State regulations.
• Coordinate goals and objectives for the dietary department.
• Procure food supplies and equipment for the dietary department.
• Assist in planning/implementing menu cycles and resident choice meals.
• Coordinate communication between shifts and other departments.

Position: Assistant Dietary Manager
Schedule: 11am-7pm, Mon-Fri, occasional weekends and holidays

Essential Functions:

• Participate in the development of food service policy and procedure development and promote interdisciplinary communication.
• Interpret the department’s policies and procedures to employee’s residents, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary.
• Understand/support the Resident Bill of Rights reflected in all aspects of performance, concern and caring for residents.
• Participate/support/monitor the CQI (QA) process.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards, within the Federal and State regulations of location.
• Responsible for developing and evaluating job descriptions and staffing patterns.
• Establish and evaluate tray service and other departmental services to the facility.
• Implement and evaluate systems for receiving, storing and allocating food and non-food materials for dietary services.
• Assume financial accountability for dietary services.
• Coordinate goals and objectives for the dietary department.
• Procure food supplies and equipment for the dietary department.
• Participate in short and long range planning of the physical plan, layout/design and capital improvements.
• Conduct self in a professional manner, supervising and evaluating job performance of all dietary staff.
• Attend facility and departmental meetings, as required.
• Monitor tray service, resident meal service and feeding guidelines, per Federal and State regulations.
• Train and orient staff to new developments and/or changes within department.
• Assist in monitoring and setting up of department systems and process.
• Assist in ensuring diet changes, meal extras; snacks, etc are processed on a daily basis.
• Perform the inventory and ordering process for department
• Assist in providing in-services for all staff regarding dietary issues.
• Assist Dietician in planning/implementing menu cycles, resident choice meals and any other food events that occur with the residents/meetings/activities, etc.
• Coordinate communication between the shifts and other departments.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
