Job summary

Jetro Restaurant Depot in Providence, RI is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to support the Deli Manager in ensuring fresh product availability, adherence to HACCP guidelines, and driving sales. This full-time, hourly position involves overseeing daily deli operations, training team members, and maintaining high customer service standards.

You will help manage inventory, coaching staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and company policies while working a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop and train team members and build relationships.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to manage warehouse operations effectively and efficiently.
• Clear and concise communication; listen and instruct teams.
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
• Experience in fast-paced warehouse environments.
• Warehouse, retail and/or customer service experience is a plus.
• Proficient with handheld scanners, desktop computers and calculators.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant, safe working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience, and respect in all customer interactions.
• Effectively communicate with customers and respond to questions and requests in a timely manner.
• Operate equipment according to company and OSHA guidelines.
• Follow basic product handling procedures in accordance with HACCP policy.
• Assist with product presentation, rotation, labeling and replenishment.
• Ensure in-stock position of available product while monitoring inventory levels through cycle counts.
• Maintain working knowledge of all warehouse equipment.
• Gain and demonstrate a high level of operational execution and product knowledge.
• Ensure consistent execution of all Department operating procedures in accordance with Corporate Audit.
• Utilize selling skills to secure additional sales and use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
• Communicate code dating issues and shrink opportunities and monitor product quality to reduce shrink.
• Plan work duties during the scheduled shift; maintain high cleanliness standards.
