You will support the Deli Manager with merchandising, product quality, and staff development while ensuring health and safety standards are met. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with preferred 2 years of supervisory experience in deli or related food service.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to take and give direction.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with ability to interact with customers.
• Proven leadership to build, motivate and maintain staff, with knowledge of reports and financial goals.
• Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Food safety certification and compliance with regulations.
• Strong organization and planning skills; multitasking.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. and stand long shifts.
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team to deliver high quality products and service and great customer experience.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Deli team.
• Unload deliveries and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure execution of health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and train the team on procedures.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to team success.
