Overview of Responsibilities

As the Assistant Deli Manager, you play a key role in helping customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service and managing a busy team.

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering, inventory control, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Lead a team that focuses on delivering quality products, high-level service, and an exceptional customer experience.
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Deli team.
• Manage store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and train team members accordingly.

Qualifications

To qualify as an Assistant Deli Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with preferred 2 years supervisory experience and knowledge of deli or related food service.
• Be dependable, reliable, and flexible with scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and work well in a team.
• Display outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and excellent customer interaction skills.
• Have proven leadership skills to motivate and maintain staff, with knowledge of reports and financial goals.
• Maintain Food Safety certification and ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.
• Be organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks.
• Be able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Operate deli equipment safely and perform other related duties as assigned.
