Job summary

UTHealth Houston’s Cizik School of Nursing seeks an Assistant Dean of Student Affairs to lead a comprehensive student services program that promotes recruitment, success, well‑being, professionalism, and retention across all programs.

This senior leader partners with Academic Success Center and university offices to create an inclusive, student‑centered environment from recruitment through graduation, overseeing scholarships and orientation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, or related field is required.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education or nursing education.
• Experience supervising staff and managing student success programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Student Affairs Office and student success initiatives.
• Collaborate with Academic Success Center and university partners to support student services, wellness, orientation, leadership development, and recognition programs.
• Oversee recruitment, retention, progression, graduation, licensure success, and employment initiatives.
• Oversee student conduct, scholarships, and policy implementation.
• Represent the School on institutional committees and drive accreditation and strategic planning activities.
