Job summary

UTHealth Houston's Cizik School of Nursing seeks an Assistant Dean of Student Affairs to lead a comprehensive student affairs program across all programs, focusing on recruitment, success, engagement, well-being, professionalism, leadership development, and retention.

The role provides strategic leadership for student support services and partners with faculty and administrators to foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership or Related Field required.
• Doctorate Degree in Education, Nursing Education, Nursing Practice or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education or nursing education.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership for the Student Affairs Office and student success initiatives.
• Collaborates with the Academic Success Center and university partners to support student services, wellness, orientation, leadership development, student organizations, and recognition programs.
• Oversees recruitment, retention, progression, graduation, NCLEX-RN licensure success, and employment outcomes.
• Oversees the management of student scholarships and student serving endowments; coordinates orientation and major student events.
• Oversees HR activities for direct reports including recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring, performance evaluations, and salary planning.

Education
