Job summary

University of WisconsinMadison g College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence seeks an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Teaching Administration to oversee academic dean s services, student affairs, and the teaching mission. This role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of CAI s student experience.

The position leads academic affairs, student progression, retention, and policy compliance; collaborates with advising staff; and meets with students to support

Qualifications

• At least 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs, academic administration, or a related area.
• 3 or more years of experience leading and supervising staff, including managing multiple teams or functional units.
• Proven experience advancing student success initiatives with measurable impact (retention, engagement, or satisfaction).
• Experience implementing academic or student affairs policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• May exercise supervisory authority over at least 2.0 FTE employees.
• Establishes priorities aligning with the college's strategic directives and supervises staff to support the academic mission.
• Fosters collegial, collaborative relationships with stakeholders and partners across administrative and academic units.
• Supports special initiatives and grant-funded programs requiring senior leadership involvement.
• Monitors ongoing assessment and continuous improvement of programs and services with annual goals and outcomes.
• Serves on university committees and advises the Dean and Provost on key issues.
