Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison seeks an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Teaching Administration to oversee CAI academic dean's services, student affairs, and the teaching mission. You will provide strategic leadership and operations oversight for the student experience, drive policy implementation, and guide initiatives contributing to student success and positive experiences.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs, academic administration, or a related area.
• 3+ years of experience leading and supervising staff, managing multiple teams or units.
• Proven record advancing student success initiatives with measurable impact (retention, engagement, satisfaction).
• Experience implementing academic or student affairs policy and procedures.
• Experience collaborating across departments in a complex organization.

Responsibilities

• May exercise supervisory authority over at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees.
• Set priorities aligned with strategic directives and supervise staff to support the academic mission.
• Foster collegial relationships with stakeholders and partner with administrative and academic units.
• Support special initiatives and grant-funded programs requiring senior leadership input.
• Monitor ongoing assessment and continuous improvement of programs and services; report outcomes.
• Serve on university review committees and collaborate with various constituencies.
• Advise the Dean and other leaders on critical issues and participate in committees as needed.
